Terms of Service
Effective November 6, 2026
These terms are an agreement between HazardAlert.com (“HazardAlert”, “we”) and the business that opens an account (“you”). By starting a trial or a plan, you agree to them.
1. The service
HazardAlert matches official weather and hazard information to the addresses you give us and sends alerts and forecasts to the people you name, by text, email or phone call. The information comes from government agencies and other public sources that we do not control.
2. Not an emergency service
HazardAlert is another way to stay informed. It does not replace official emergency warnings, emergency services or your own safety procedures. Alerts can be late, incomplete or not arrive, because of the source data, networks, carriers or our systems. Some events come with little or no warning. Keep official emergency alerts turned on and follow directions from local authorities.
3. Your storm plan
Any checklist, storm plan or instruction sent with an alert is written and approved by you. We deliver it as you provide it. We do not tell you or your staff what to do, and you are responsible for your own plans and decisions.
4. Your account and the people you add
- You must give accurate information and keep your account details secure.
- You confirm that each person you add has agreed to receive alerts from HazardAlert at the number and email you provide, and you will remove anyone who asks to stop.
- Each person counts once on your account. Limits on people per location are set by your plan.
5. Free trial
A free trial lasts 60 days, covers one location and includes every feature. No card is needed. When the trial ends, alerts stop unless you choose a plan. We may limit trials to one per business.
6. Plans, billing and renewal
- Plans are billed per location, monthly or yearly, in advance.
- Plans renew automatically for the same period until you cancel.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice. The new price applies from your next renewal.
- Prices do not include taxes, which we add where required.
7. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time. Your service continues until the end of the month or year you have paid for, and then stops. We do not refund unused time.
8. Acceptable use
You may not resell or republish the service, use it to send messages to people who have not agreed to receive them, interfere with its operation, or use it unlawfully.
9. No warranty
The service and all information in it are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, including that alerts will be accurate, complete, timely or delivered.
10. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, HazardAlert is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss or damage to property, vehicles or business caused by weather or other hazards, whether or not an alert was sent or received. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Indemnity
You will cover our reasonable costs from claims arising from your storm plans or instructions, messages sent to people you added without their agreement, or your breach of these terms.
12. Suspension and ending
We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms or does not pay. If we end the service for any other reason, we will refund any prepaid time not yet used.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and tell account holders of material changes at least 30 days before they apply.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts in Collin County, Texas.
